We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser. 

We are ideally looking for a full time employee, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. However we would consider part time hours (a minimum of 30 hours) for the right candidate. The role is office based, at our head office in Roundswell, Barnstaple.

About the role…

As the Assistant Merchandiser, you will play a vital role within the business by supporting the Merchandising Manager with the management, ordering and delivery of stock, and the resolution of stock queries.

We are ideally looking for a full time employee, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. However we would consider part time hours (a minimum of 30 hours) for the right candidate. The role is office based, at our head office in Roundswell, Barnstaple. 

About you…

You will create and run Excel reports, such as stock availability, Amazon shipment, stock orders and best sellers. You will be vital to the Key Accounts process by managing inventory to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and promptly.  You will also have strong numerical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to plan, organise, and manage projects. You will have intermediate IT skills with the capability to build and run Excel reports, including lookups and pivot tables.

Required Skills, Experience & Competencies 

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Merchandiser, Senior Merchandising Assistant or equivalent Stock Planning role
  • Experience within the jewellery industry or similar FMCG
  • Able to create and run reports in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to hit a deadline and work using own initiative

Responsibilities

Working Collaboratively with the Merchandising Manager

  • Support the creation of new catalogues
  • Review all pricing data on an annual basis
  • Create a report for data on price margins, weights, item categories
  • Run stock order reports
  • Raise product orders for approval
  • Send orders to suppliers and review order confirmations
  • Continuously monitor shipments, identifying any issues or delays
  • Check invoices to ensure accuracy before shipments
  • Arrange shipments and provide updates on delivery dates
  • Identify warehouse landing location and handover product
  • Ensure barcode labels are shipped to suppliers
  • Monitor and report on quality control issues 
  • Run regular merchandising reports
  • Assist with Amazon stock take, reporting and discrepancy analysis
  • Participate with biannual stock take
  • Ensure our Business Central system with updated accurately
  • Arrange supplier meetings and support new supplier onboarding
  • Review product samples

Desirable skills 

  • Previous experience within a buying role would be beneficial
  • Intermediate IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office and AX would be desirable
  • Flexible in approach and able to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Aptitude for learning different IT programmes and databases
  • Awareness of the latest trends and fashion
  • Creative and trend mindset, and eye for design
